The Journal of Pan African Studies

On the Cover: Cynthia A. McKinney, human rights activist, politician and former six term member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the state of Georgia (the first African American woman elected to the post). In 2004, she hosted the first delegation of Afro-Latinos from Central and South America and worked with the World Bank and the U.S. State Department to recognize Afro-Latinos. She holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California, a M.A. from Tufts University, and she is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley.


Dedicated to the memory of Elombe Brath (1936-2014), Vincent G. Harding (1931-2014), Sam Greenlee (1930-2014), and Maya Angelou (1928-2014).
